NEW CLIENT INFORMATION

Before We Start – Mandatory Evaluation Session

A mandatory evaluation session with a new client and dog is required prior to a dog being booked into any Classes, Daycare, Boarding or Board/Train program.

The evaluation will take place either at our facility or at the client’s home. The session will include a complete behavioral assessment of the dog and their interaction with the family, an observation of the dog with another neutral dog, a discussion of the training methods we’ll be using as well as a short training session with the dog and the family covering several basic commands. Following this, an individualized training plan will be developed for the dog. All members of the household over 7 years old who interact regularly with the dog must attend the evaluation session.

Assuming a positive assessment session, the dog can then be enrolled through our booking system in all group and private Training Classes, Daycare, Boarding and Board/Train programs.

After the assessment session, depending on the dog’s behavior and temperament, more private sessions either at the client’s home or our facility may be recommended. However, the goal is always to get the dog into a group class where they can learn to ignore the distraction of numerous dogs. 

The cost for the 90-minute Evaluation session at our facility is $70 and in the client’s home is $100. After that, private sessions at the client’s home are $80 an hour. Private sessions at our facility are $50 an hour. For private training sessions that run more than 10 minutes over the normal class time, an additional fee of $15 will accrue every 15 minutes. Group training classes are $240 with most classes running 6 sessions. Conformation Handling classes are $15 a session for adults and $10 per session for Juniors. Junior Scholarships for Handling and Training classes are available. Please inquire for details. For Daycare, Board and Board/Train options, please refer to those sections of the website.

Fall 2026 group training classes: $200 for 6 sessions (regular price $240). Conformation Handling: $15 per session for adults and $10 per session for Juniors.

1. If you plan on attending a class, YOU MUST book it at least twenty-four hours in advance of the class.

2. If a dog is signed up for Boarding, Board/Train or Daycare, dog must also have had a current Bordetella vaccination.

3. Proof of immunizations must be provided at first training class, daycare, Board or Board/Train session.

4. No less than twenty-four hours in advance, if a class is not booked or there are an insufficient number of students, class will be automatically canceled. You will receive an e-mail notifying you of the cancellation.
   
5. If you cancel a class less than 24 hours in advance of class, there will be a mandatory charge equal to 1/2 the class fee.

6. Dogs must have had at least two series of shots and all dogs over 5 months old must also have had their rabies shot. Proof of immunization must be provided at first session.

7. Please wear comfortable clothes that you can work in, preferably with pockets. All students must wear closed-toed shoes. No flip flops, Crocs or sandals! Students without closed-toed shoes WILL NOT be able to participate in class and will be charged the full class fee.

8. Students should bring lots of high-value training treats in either their pockets or in bait bags. Chicken, hot dogs, and string cheese for example, in small amounts, will help you get your dog’s focus.

9. The preferred collar for all training classes other than Handling, is a well-fitted martingale collar. If you want to use a different form of training equipment, please notify your instructor before class.

10. Class payments may be made through eTransfer, Credit Card or Cash. Payment is due at time of service.

11. The safety of our clients – canine and human! – is our highest priority. Therefore, dogs who demonstrate aggression towards other dogs or people cannot participate in group classes until under control of the handler. Aggressively reactive dogs not in control of the handler MUST be removed from class at the trainer’s request and no refund will be given.
