A mandatory evaluation session with a new client and dog is required before joining the program. It will take place either at our facility or at the client’s home. The session will include a behavioral assessment of the dog and their interaction with the family, a discussion of the training methods we’ll be using and a short training session with the dog and the family covering several basic commands. Following this, an individualized training plan will be developed for the dog. All members of the household over 7 years old who interact regularly with the dog must attend the first session.
After the first session, depending on the dog’s behavior and temperament, more private sessions either at the client’s home or my facility may be recommended. However, the goal is always to get the dog into a group class where they can learn to ignore the distraction of numerous dogs. If the dog has mastered basic skills and is under the control of the handler, with the instructor’s permission, they may enter group classes, Puppy Camp or Pup-ercise.
The cost for the Evaluation session at our facility is $100 and in the client’s home is $140. After that, private sessions at the client’s home are $120 an hour. Private sessions at our facility are $80 an hour. For private training sessions that run more than 10 minutes over the normal class time, an additional fee of $15 will accrue every 15 minutes. Group training classes and Puppy Camps are $50 a session. Pup-ercise is $35 a session. Handling class are $20 a session for adults and $10 per session for Juniors. Junior Scholarships for Handling and Training classes are available. Please inquire for details.
